Hello!
I’m Cris, an illustrator who lives under the command of a creative brain. If you can’t find me at my desk, then I’m probably at the library looking for inspiration, or else with my Kindle covered in stickers.
Since kid, drawing has shielded me from chaos and danger. Even today, I believe that creativity and illustration are invaluable tools for dealing with any situation. I love illustrating board books and picture books, as well as any format that gives children the tools to manage their daily lives, have fun and feel safe.
There are many stories that deserve to be told and just as many others that need to be rewritten. Fortunately, illustration and art are a universal language. I know for sure that I’m not the only nonconformist on the planet. I just need to find other people who want to make this world a more empathetic, fair and safe place, if only in a small way.
If I weren’t an illustrator… I’d still be illustrating (I’m not going to lie.) But maybe I’d open my own bookshop and create a space where anyone could share their story. There would always be someone willing to listen.
Soy Cris, una ilustradora de Barcelona que vive bajo las órdenes de un cerebro creativo. Si no me encuentras en mi escritorio, seguramente estaré en una biblioteca buscando inspiración o pegada a mi Kindle tuneado con pegatinas.
Desde pequeña, dibujar me protegió del caos y el peligro. Hoy sigo pensando que la creatividad y la ilustración son instrumentos infalibles para afrontar cualquier situación. Me encanta ilustrar libros de cartoné, álbumes ilustrados y cualquier formato que dé herramientas a los más pequeños para gestionar su día a día, divertirse y sentirse seguros.
Hay muchas historias que merecen ser contadas, y otras tantas necesitan ser reescritas. Afortunadamente la ilustración y el arte son un lenguaje universal. Si algo tengo claro, es que no soy la única inconformista del planeta. Solo necesito encontrar personas como yo que quieran intentar hacer de este mundo un sitio (humildemente) más empático, justo y seguro.
Si no fuera ilustradora… Seguiría ilustrando, no te voy a mentir. Pero quizá abriría mi propia librería y crearía un espacio donde cualquier persona podría contar su historia. Siempre habría alguien dispuesto a escucharle.
